CLUE Will Also Be a Touring Stage Production in 2017

CLUE Will Also Be a Touring Stage Production in 2017

Clue has lived many lives: initially a Hasbro board game, it went from maligned movie to cult classic obsession, and now there’s even a cinematic reboot on the way. But that’s not enough to keep the nostalgia train running, so we’re getting one more bit of Clue in our lives in the form of a national stage production tour!

The news broke on Wednesday afternoon courtesy of Variety, prompting the entire Nerdist office to stop everything they were doing and scream with joy (in the kitchen with the candlestick). Now before you ask: no, this production isn’t slated to head to Broadway, but it is going to be criss-crossing the nation and if popularity proves sufficient, that could always change—especially when you consider the pedigree involved. Set to premiere at the Bucks County Playhouse in Pennsylvania, the script was penned by the movie’s writer-director, Jonathan Lynn, which is sure to excite fans of the original property.

Though we doubt the film’s original stars—Tim Curry, Christopher Lloyd, et al—will take part in the theatrical production, we’re no less excited to see Lynn’s vision come to life on the stage (with the script and Mrs. Peacock—oh wait).

Are you looking forward to checking out the stage production of Clue? Let us know in the comments below.

And if you’re wondering about that Clue movie reboot, here’s why we’re freaking out about it:
