Classic “Doctor Who” Screening #2 at NerdMelt Showroom

Ahoy, friends!

BBC Worldwide and Nerdist are teaming up again for the second of our monthly series of Classic Doctor Who screenings at NerdMelt Showroom in the back of Meltdown Comics. And again, it’s hosted by me! Once again, we’ll be showing a complete serial from our favorite Time Lord’s first 26 years.

After an excellent turnout for the William Hartnell story “Planet of Giants,” I’m hoping we build on that for this month’s adventure: the Patrick Troughton classic, “The Tomb of the Cybermen,” from 1967. Seriously, guys, this has got to be one of the best the classic series has to offer, and just so happens to have made it to #3 on my Top 10 Classic stories. Right in time for Halloween, it’s a story where the Cybermen rise from their graves!

Once again, there will be giveaways and trivia and, seeing as it’s Halloween, if you dress up in Doctor Who garb, there’ll be a costume contest. The action starts this Saturday, October 27th, at 2:00pm at the NerdMelt Showroom in the back of Meltdown Comics, 7522 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles. As it was last time, it’s FREE FOR EVERYONE; we just need you to visit this website and RSVP.

I’m excited to see everyone again and new people for the first time. Ask anyone who came before: It’s super-fun!

The first screening was really awesome. What a great way to spend an afternoon, in a comic book store, surrounded by nerd, watchign some classic Doctor Who. The trivia contesats in between segements were fun and informative, and I walked away with a free DVD. This is such a great way to get indoctrinated. I’d highly recommend going to this upcoming one.
