Chef Silvaâs instagram gives us donut lovers satisfaction weâre craving since he videoed the unveiling of his masterpiece. Consider it the unboxing of ultimate proportions, except instead of toys itâs a satisfyingly crispy, fried donut, broken open to reveal a steamy, sweet, cinnamon center. The sugar-filled beating heart of the beast, if you will.

Did he stop there? Would you? Why not push the palate and presentation to the limit. Silva then plates the worldâs greatest dessert by taking it to the next level when the filled donut is cut in half to reveal itâs swirly, sweet interior. Added to the plating is creamy seasonal homemade pumpkin ice cream, topped with a fresh cranberry pomegranate sauce, scooped onto a perfect pepita brisee. Thatâs not the end of it. The ice cream is then topped with a jaunty pumpkin Bavarian cream, and finally a spiced rum sabayon, ensuring that this stuffed donut moved from mashup to masterpiece.

Chef Silva is the pastry chef at Catch NYC in Manhattanâs Meatpacking District, and one look at the dessert menu tells you that this heavenly confection is right at home alongside the likes of an apple pie donut topped with cream cheese custard and the Liquid Klondike cake with roasted white chocolate ice cream.
