Look, if you spent high school and college as pretty as Chris Hemsworth, I am sure that you would make a really good secretary too. But no one is as pretty as Chris Hemsworth â so of course he got the job of right-hand man to the new ladies of Paul Feig‘s Ghostbusters. At least if the director’s recent tweet is to be believed. On Wednesday night, Feig made the announcement on Twitter, and the subsequent flurry of emails riddled with GIFs that flew between Nerdist editors was epic. Here’s the proof:

Basically, we all went like this:

All we have is Feig’s tweet to go on, but we also have the wonderful childhood memories of the sass and savvy of Annie Potts as the indomitable Janine Melnitz who stole our hearts with her everything. If you’re not running to rewatch Ghostbusters the original and day dreaming about all the wonderful ways that Hemsworth could embody the confidant of such a motley crew of ghost hunters, well I just don’t know what is wrong with you. So far I have internally debated whether they will dye his hair red, give him horn-rimmed glasses (get ready for the next biggest meme a la Hey Girl Ryan Gosling if that happens), or hook him up with one of the ladies. (Melissa McCarthy, anyone?) What do you think? Please, please tell me in the comments below.
Feig is revamping Ghostbusters with Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones as our new Spengler, Venkman, Stantz, and Zeddermore. The movie is expected to hit theaters in 2016. For now, please join us and the original Janine Melnitz in celebration.

And then let’s all take a moment and hope beyond hope that at some point in Ghostbusters our once and future Thor asks for more coffee.
