Chris Hemsworth had a lot to say about pretty much everything he is–or might be–working on. So on today’s Nerdist News Talks Back we had our very first “Chris Hems-Watch!” And we also discussed the latest on Solo: A Star Wars Story, and the possibility of President Oprah.
Joining guest host Amy Vorpahl today was managing editor Alicia Lutes along with Nerdist News writers Aliza Pearl and Joey Clift (making his show debut!), and they broke down the many comments from Chris Hemsworth recently about potential future projects, including whether he will return in the next Star Trek movie as Kirk’s dad. Could this still happen, or does Quentin Tarantino’s involvement in the franchise mean it won’t? He also said he’s excited for more Thor movies after Infinity War, so does that mean he’ll survive the showdown with Thanos? Do we want to see more of him anyway, or should Marvel focus on new characters in the next wave? And what about his idea of doing something with Wolverine? Any chance Hugh Jackman would return to the character? (Check out today’s Nerdist News for more on that.)
Also we’re only a few months away from the next Star Wars film, Solo, coming to theaters and yet information has been scarce. So what do we make of Donald Glover’s comments that not much changed for him as young Lando during Ron Howard’s four months of reshoots? Is he just downplaying the difference in directors? If not, who will get the final director’s credit? Are we hyped by the rumors we might finally get a trailer next week, or is it too late for an effective marketing campaign now? Is that why all Star Wars movies should open in December? And does Ewan McGregor’s beard hint at the next standalone movie being about Obi-Wan?
Finally, last night at the Golden Globes Oprah gave a great speech that has people wondering if she’ll run for president in 2020. Do we want to see her hit the campaign trail? More than we do The Rock?

Nerdist News Talks Back airs live on our YouTube and Alpha channels every weekday at 1:00 p.m. PT, so make sure to tune in with us so you can be a part of the conversation. Although if he’s really going to be making so many more movies, it might become Nerdist News Talks Chris Hemsworth. Not that we’d complain.
We still want to hear from you, so talk back to us about today’s topics in the comments below.
