Chris Evans Debuts Trailer for Not Fake Biopic About Real-Life Loser DENNIS

Because the Academy generally ignores superhero movies, Chris Evans will probably never get an Oscar nomination for his work as Captain America. Determined to nab that trophy, Evans decided to make a gritty, Oscar bait-style biopic that critics will eat up, like a cheeseburger out of the toilet. Wasting no time, he debuted the first teaser for the movie on Jimmy Kimmel Live, for the world–and the unlikely real life protagonist he is portraying in the film just, who just so happened to be in the audience–to see.

Dennis tells the story of the ultimate loser, a totally worthless man who didn’t even know Evans was playing him in a movie… or stalking him to nail down the part. Err, sorry. Evans is an actor, so what we call “stalking,” he calls “researching.” It was the only way he could really capture just how awful Dennis’ crappy life really is.

Whereas most biopics tell the stories of famous and successful people, Dennis stands out as the brave portrayal of a nobody unworthy of love, and one with some particularly regrettable habits and attributes.

As for the real life inspiration of the film, what a thrill it must be to have a Hollywood megastar watching everything he did for six weeks. Observing him while he ate, when he slept, even reading his emails. You would think the real Dennis would appreciate having his story told, but some people just don’t get it.

Considering Dennis screams Oscar, we imagine the film will be released in December. In the meantime Evans’ next movie, Gifted, comes to theaters on April 12th.

Would you see Dennis if they really made it? Tell us why in the comments below.
