Without a doubt, Baby Groot was the star of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer. Thereâs nothing more precious than a baby version of our favorite anthropomorphic tree-like superhero. The only way this hero could be improved upon would be if he was made of chocolate… and a chocolate Baby Groot is just what U.K.-based baker Laura Miller created. Sheâs a true hero.
Not only did Miller make Groot edible, she created a tutorial so we could follow her process. Iâd be lying if I said I didnât watch this video on repeat, mostly to listen to âHooked on a Feelingâ over and over. Thereâs something soothing about the combination of Blue Suedeâs hit from the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack and the vision of chocolate being gently carved. Itâs a zen like no other.
Miller owns a bakery called Sugar Spice Cakes where these over the top creations are the norm. The Groot sculpting took seven hours in total but thanks to her handy dandy time lapse we get to see it all go down in just two minutes.
Comic Book Resources spoke with Miller who said that her Baby Groot is made of milk and white chocolate and weighs in at three kilograms, just over six-and-a-half pounds. Millerâs detailing is fabulous, with every little stroke the sculpture quickly takes on Grootâs aesthetic.
Miller sells a tutorial for this sugary masterpiece on Vimeo so that you can make your own Baby Groot, but why risk the Pinterest fail when you can order one of your own? Can you imagine this chocolate wonder arriving on your doorstep? I wouldnât be able to eat him! I couldnât!… Okay, maybe just a nibble. Heâll regrow anyway.
