Check Out Two Brand New Clips From MARVEL’S ASSEMBLING A UNIVERSE

In lieu of a new episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. this Tuesday, ABC will air an all-new documentary about the creation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel’s Assembling A Universe. While most of us are excited for this new doc because it will feature a first look at Avengers: Age of Ultron, as well as Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy, the doc itself seems to actually be a pretty cool thing on its own. At least that’s the assumption to be made based on two clips that have recently been released:

So we’ll be diving into, among other things, the complexity of launching the MCU without the heavy hitters of Spider-Man and The X-Men, as well as getting into what it was like to cross the film universes over for the first time in comic book movie history. That all has the makings of a really cool subject matter that will surely be a fascinating watch come Tuesday.

I just don’t understand why ABC (or Marvel, if that was the case) made the asinine decision to air this special IN LIEU of a new episode of MAoS. I would think this special would have been a PERFECT lead-in to, what’s likely going to be a pretty great episode to hop onto the series with.

I’ve been complaining about the promotional department this entire season, because they’ve been using the commercials and the ‘hype machine’ to basically lie to us fans of the show (e.g. – “This is Stan Lee’s most important cameo role so far!”) and just overhype every small detail of the show.

Now that they’ve finally calmed down a bit, and let the story do the hyping for them, I’ve stopped complaining about that, but then they pull this switcharoo on us, and after just 2 weeks being back (after at month long hiatus), they’re taking another break.

Didn’t ABC learn their lesson from throwing so many breaks into Once Upon a Time last year? The fans were livid about that, and this is certainly no better.

Get it together, Marvel TV division! The movie guys are running circles around you!
