In the wake of David Letterman’s retirement announcement last week, the crew over at The Simpsons seem to have worked around the clock to do an opening gag in honor of the late night host:
It’s amazing how fast the crew was able to turn this around, especially if they in fact didn’t any kind of lead-time ahead of the official announcement on Friday.
In addition to that, last night’s episode featured a wonderfully crafted opening in the style of Minecraft:
Tee-hee-hee. That’s actually pretty clever, especially with the family walking over the famous Springfield Tire Fire.
@Andrew: Thanks for confirming that! I thought I recognized it as soon as I saw it.
The Sun should have been square, but… eh, we’ll let it pass.
Simpsons did it.
That Letterman couch gag is two years old. The only addition was the “We’ll miss you” note at the end.
