Check Out GHOST IN THE SHELL’s New International Trailer

It’s a shorter-than-usual workweek for many of us, what with plenty of folks taking vacation days to get a jump on their holiday season. But there’s no shortage of news in today’s Movie Morsels. We’ve got the latest explosive look at the live-action Ghost in the Shell with Scarlett Johansson, a behind-the-scenes featurette on Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting 2, the red band trailer for Amy Schumer‘s Snatched, and much more non-seasonal merriment!

Ghost in the Shell

The new trailer for Ghost in the Shell hearkens closer to the Japanese source material with a terrific visual flare. The video does make us excited to see more, though we can’t help but grapple with the whitewashing in the film’s casting.

Trainspotting 2

With original Trainspotting director Danny Boyle (who, let’s face it, has never really made a bad film) and the 1996 movie’s complete starring cast, the upcoming Trainspotting 2 has a pedigree that most sequels would kill for. But just in case you remain unconvinced of its potential quality, I’ll let these fine folks speak for themselves. Below is a new video that shows they’ve still got the “lust for life” that made the first Trainspotting one of the definitive indie classics of the ’90s.

Snatched

Despite her breakthrough into mainstream filmmaking with Trainwreck, Amy Schumer is determined to prove she hasn’t softened her image and is still the raunchiest woman in comedy. That much is obvious in the red band trailer for her latest movie, which brings another iconic funny lady back to the screen (after far too long an absence). Here’s Schumer with the great Goldie Hawn in Snatched

Going in Style

In the grand tradition of The Bucket List, Youth, and other screen comedies starring Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman that prove truly great actors just improve with age, here’s the trailer for Going in Style, an offbeat heist flick co-starring Alan Arkin, Ann-Margret, Matt Dillon, and Christopher Lloyd! Does Caine have one more Italian Job in him? If he’s as charming in this as he’s been in his last decade of work, we’re on board.

Fifty Shades Darker

Finally today, even if you’re no longer as curious about the world of Fifty Shades of Grey as the sequel’s marketing hopes you are, I’m betting there’s a lot of folks out there who are more than willing to give a listen to any new song featuring Taylor Swift’s vocals, especially one that sees the pop diva paired with Zayn. Here’s the debut of the “lyric video” for “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” from Fifty Shades Darker, which releases on February 10th.
