Charlie Day on HORRIBLE BOSSES 2, ALWAYS SUNNY, and More

You know Charlie Day from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, and you know he hit the big screen as Jennifer Aniston’s victim in 2011’s Horrible Bosses. A sequel to the hit comedy has wrapped production and hits theaters this summer, and Nerdist caught up with Day at the premiere of The LEGO Movie to talk about how production on the follow-up went.

“It’s good!,” he exclaimed. “We just finished filming and we had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs, and Chris Pine and Christoph Waltz were fantastic additions to the franchise. Kevin Spacey came back and did his thing, Aniston, Jamie Foxx – they were all great. Now Sean [Anders] and John [Cheng] and [John] Morris will take it into the editing room, and hopefully they’ll piece together something really great.”

Day also gave us the update on Always Sunny, adding: “We’re definitely coming back for Season 10 and then maybe a few more after that.”

Finally, for folks like myself who loved 2013’s Pacific Rim, is there any hope for a sequel? “They are not consulting me on these decisions!,” Day said. “If it was up to me, you’d get at least three. But, you know, I don’t know. I haven’t – the phone has not been ringing about it so, I don’t know.”

Sad. While we might not be getting more Kaiju and Jaeger fights, we can look forward to more Charlie Day on both the big and small screen.

The LEGO Movie, featuring Charlie Day as the voice of “Benny,” opens February 7.
