Character Posters for Showtime’s Gothic Horror Series PENNY DREADFUL

Can’t wait for Showtime’s psychosexual horror series Penny Dreadful? Well, you’re in luck, because Showtime has released a handful of tantalizing character posters to tide us over until its premiere. If you haven’t heard of Penny Dreadful, make sure you check out the trailer here. So far, we know it’s a Victorian gothic tale that features some of literature’s most famous macabre monsters, including Dracula and Dr. Frankenstein, and stars Eva Green, Josh Hartnett, Billie Piper, and Timothy Dalton.

So far we’ve seen a fair amount of Ethan Chandler (Hartnett), an American sharpshooter, and Vanessa Ives (Green), a seductive soothsayer of sorts, but many of the other characters are still cloaked in mystery. The new posters take a closer look at Ethan Chandler and Vanessa Ives, as well as Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney) and Bona Croft (Billie Piper), an Irish immigrant. Check them out below.

Penny Dreadful premieres on Showtime on May 11, 2014 at 10/9c.

Also as a neuroscientists, I like turtles.

  2. Jessica Duffy says:

I am sure that this show will be fun to watch. As a neuroscientist I am hesitant by the label “psychosexual” which is typically associated with Freudian pseudo-psychology. I am sure its just a sexy word the producers thought would help sell the series but it still makes me weary.

  3. Jan k says:

When and on what channel will this be premiering in Ontario, Canada?

  4. Dano152 says:

Eva Green AND Billie Piper? Yeah, I’m in.
