Celebrities Bet Against Jimmy Fallon… And Now, They Pay Up

Last night, Jimmy Fallon had his inaugural night at The Tonight Show and, with all the fanfare and big guests, along with 5 years of late night talk show host experience under his belt, he definitely outdid his first episode at Late Night, which had a segment where audience members licked items in order to win $10.

Not only did he have Will Smith, and U2 playing on 70 stories up on a roof with the New York City skyline at dusk in the background, but Fallon had a great row of celebrity cameos in a bit where he was collecting on his bet to move to 11:30 (even though this premiere aired at midnight ET because of the Sochi Winter Olympics). Tina Fey, Robert De Niro, Tracy Morgan, Joan Rivers (who ended her decades-long ban, instituted by Johnny Carson, from The Tonight Show), Mike Tyson, Lindsay Lohan, Seth Rogen, Lady Gaga, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Mariah Carey, Joe Namath, Sarah Jessica Parker, and now-competitor Stephen Colbert all “paid up.”

Seriously, Colbert’s cameo makes this really priceless. Watch the clip below.

  1. John says:

Wasn’t the last time Joan Rivers ever appeared on The Tonight Show before Johnny black-listed her?

  2. nonameneeded says:

Jimmy Fallon is an annoying talk show host

  3. Evan says:

I loved the look on Seth Rogen’s face. Pure disbelief.

  4. Nate says:

That was Kim K. in between Joan Rivers and Seth Rogen, wasn’t it? And did Tyson give him a coupon for an Indian restaurant along with the hundred?

Great bit, well executed, and Colbert’s message was perfect.
