Celebrities Become The Batman In New BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT Spot

With just a little over a week before the release of Batman: Arkham Knight, Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive have released a new bit of advertising for the game. The video above is a little different than the others they’ve done before — Rocksteady and Warner Bros. partnered with SNL’s Taran Killam to direct a video showcasing the reactions and hands-on experiences of various celebrities who got to play the game.

It includes Wiz Khalifa, Neil Patrick Harris, Breckin Meyer, Kumail Nanjiani, Minka Kelly, Blake Anderson, Justine Ezerik, Joe Manganiello, Troy Baker, and Batman himself, Kevin Conroy. The selection of talent may hit all over the spectrum of celebrity, but the main factor was every one of them seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Alright, so it is pretty obvious that portions of the video are scripted, or all of it is scripted, but it is meant to be an advertisement. The video does a great job of highlighting the major aspects of the game that Rocksteady has been bragging about for a while. The batmobile, gigantic open-world map, and dual-play combat are all given their time, while also offering some pretty funny moments from the celebrity cast. Who doesn’t love watching Troy Baker just make up songs about how much fun he is having in the game, or Blake Anderson pretending he crashed the batmobile on purpose? The answer is no one. The biggest take away, though, is Minka Kelly’s summery: This is what we’ve been waiting for. It’s hard not to believe that at this point.

The time is almost upon us, my friends, to become The Bat one last time. On June 23rd, it is once more unto the breach. Are you with me, reader? Then sound off in the comments below!
