Catherine Elhoffer’s THE FORCE AWAKENS Dresses Would Make Amidala Envious

Are your closets overflowing with Star Wars: The Force Awakens merchandise yet? If so, make some room because Catherine Elhoffer of Elhoffer Designs has a whole line of stylish dresses you didn’t know you needed. The crazy talented fashion designer was inspired by the new costumes in the film and put her skills to work making dresses that emulate the likes of Kylo Ren, Rey, BB-8, Poe Dameron, and Captain Phasma. She had me at Phasma.

Catherine pulls shapes, colors, and lines from what she sees on screen and starts with a sketch. I visited her studio and saw her notebooks; they’re overflowing with pages of beautiful concepts. And by beautiful, I mean oh-my-goodness-I-want-all-of-it-precious. The sketch eventually becomes a pattern, the pattern becomes a dress. Here’s a before and after of her BB-8 dress:

Elfhoffer does it all; she designs, cuts the fabric, and sews the dresses together. She’s basically a wizard. Her The Force Awakens collection includes everything from skater-style dresses to tighter fits–like this First Order stormtrooper dress:

Pardon me while I mop up the puddle of drool I just made.

Visit the gallery below to see both sketches and finished dresses. You can see even more of her creations at Facebook, Instagram, and her website. She posts information about when she’s available for commissions and how to get in touch with her at all those places. These dresses inspired by The Force Awakens are gorgeous, but keep in mind she can create just about anything you can dream of.

Which design do you covet the most? Will you be placing an order? Talk to me in the comments.
