There is a sad reality that we need to address: There are some people (too many, actually) who are amped up for Star Wars: The Force Awakens to hit theaters but have not seen any of the original movies. Not a single one! The good news is that there’s still plenty of time to watch them all. But some of us have very busy lives.
This isn’t recommended as your first option, but we have a last resort in case you need to see the existing Star Wars movies in a hurry (or if you have seen them and would like a brief refresher). Eclectic Method has created a three-minute video that summarizes the first six Star Wars movies. It’s no replacement for the actual experience, but watching all the movies would take 13 hours and 17 minutes, and some of us just might not have that kind of time.
Be advised, though, that you won’t be getting a complete picture of the series so far just from this video, in case you didn’t already assume that. It overlooks some important figures: Han Solo and the beloved Jar Jar Binks appear for about one total second. Apparently Han isn’t as crucial to the plot of the series as we had assumed, given the fact that he is Han friggin’ Solo.
Regardless, the video does what it set out to do: remind you of what has happened so far in the Star Wars series, and quickly. It might be a good quick watch before The Force Awakens. If you’re looking for a better recap of the prequels, we re-watched them for you and wrote about it here.
