Netflix’ breakout hit series Orange Is The New Black is set to return for its third season this summer, but in the meantime, Piper, Red, Crazy Eyes, and the other ladies of Litchfield State Prison have provided us with a little something to tide us over the long wait till June: a group sing-along to YouTube sensation “Don’t Talk To Me,” which was actually inspired by an episode of Orange Is The New Black in the first place.
In the last episode of the second season of OITNB, Leanne, Pennsatucky’s former lackey, was teaching one of the other inmates her cool new way of dissing people, which went something like this: “Stop, donât talk to me! Loser, lame boy, wannabe! Oh, like totallyâall you wanna be is me. Stay fresh.” This led a Vine star by the name of  Twaimz to make his own version, but now with a beat. Then a whole other bunch of bored Millennials Vine enthusiasts started making their own versions of Twaimz’ catchy little earworm, which led yet another Vine user named Lycia Faith, who could actually sing, to make her own 6 second version of the song. Then an aspiring rapper named Tre Coast remixed her Vine into his track, and presto: we’ve got a YouTube sensation in the making.
Now the women of Orange Is The New Black are bringing it home with their version of Tre Coast’s little ditty. As you can see, Samira Wiley, who plays Poussey Washington on the show, totally has the best set of pipes among the cast. Check out the video below:
