Konno Konpou, a cardboard company in Ishinomaki, Japan has built a life-sized model of a Lamborghini out of cardboard. The “Damborghini,” so-named because danboard is the word for cardboard in Japanese, is on display at the Konpo’s Factory, the store owned by CEO Hideki Konno. Konno made the creation to help stop the defection of residents after the 2011 tsunami. He said, “I wanted to show (not tell) that the area has adults with creative, cool jobs.”

The Damborghini weights around 100 kg (or 220 lb) and took six people a year and a half to make. It’s got working LED lights and a cardboard V12 engine. Visitors keep poking at it (causing some damage), but Konno didn’t want to put barriers to his amazing and brightly colored creation. Hey, who could possibly keep their hands off a hot pink Lamborghini? They’ve reportedly had tens of thousands of visitors in the shop, which now has a sign asking people not to mess with it.

To prep for the life-sized version, Konno made ⅛ and ½ scale models. He’s also created a cardboard dinosaur and Gundam.
