Since his debut in 1941, Captain America has been one of Marvel’s most iconic characters. Joe Simon and Jack Kirby‘s patriotic superhero has also had a renewed popularity thanks to Chris Evans‘ role as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ahead of this week’s release of Captain America: Civil War, a new infographic is taking a look back at almost all of Cap’s costumes from the last 75 years!
The infographic was created by the team at HalloweenCostumes.com, and it’s a pretty comprehensive catalog of Cap’s major costume changes across all media, including the 1944 serial and even the embarrassingly awful costume that was won by Reb Brown in the first Captain America TV movie featuring a motorcycle helmet as his mask!
’70s TV movie Cap isn’t the only one who has a ridiculous costume. Steve Rogers’ Nomad outfit is also on the infographic, as it was the first time that Steve Rogers abandoned his Cap identity in the Marvel Universe. The plunging neckline on that costume is unintentionally hilarious. Rogers’ “The  Captain” outfit fares a little better, but that costume was almost too “Cap.”
The other oddities on the infographic include the “RoboCap” costume Steve Rogers briefly wore in the ’90s when his powers were failing him, as well as the Captain America costumes worn by Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson when they took over the mantle from Rogers. Even Cap’s current comic book costume is included!
