The Boss has a mom and she can still get down.
Last night, Bruce Springsteen played a show at Madison Square Garden, sidelining his current tour in order to make up a show that was postponed in January. During âRamrod,â Springsteen left his E Street Band onstage so he could go retrieve his 90-year-old mother, Adele, from the crowd.
When he met her on one of the runways, the pair danced and bootie waggled for a minute of the most adorable jumbotron entertainment ever. But the Boss must be the Boss, and so they embraced and he returned to his helm (and she kept waggling). âSheâs still got the moves,â he said when he got back to his mic. Considering she could have been reared in the ââ32 Fordâ Springsteen sings about in âRamrod,â sheâs definitely still got the moves.
It wasnât the first time the Boss has danced with friends or loved ones onstage. In the 1988 live video for âDancing in the Dark,â Springsteen invited a then-unknown Courtney Cox to the stage, helping launch her career: no Bruce, no Friends! Maybe Springsteen should get some royalties there.
Adele (Springsteenâs mom), too, has made an onstage appearance during âDancing in the Dark,â a song during which Springsteen often invites people onstage to dance with him. And his dance forays with older women arenât even limited to his motherâjust three weeks ago, the singer-songwriter danced onstage in Minnesota with a 91-year-old woman. The man’s got charm for all ages, so bring your grandmother to the next Springsteen show you attend and you may make the jumbotron!
