BOY MEETS WORLD Reunion Tonight on GIRL MEETS WORLD!

While it seemed like a scary idea at first, Girl Meets World, the spin-off/sequel series to beloved 90s sitcom Boy Meets World, has slowly transformed itself into a highly entertaining program for Disney Channel. For the last few months, we’ve watched the adventures of Riley Matthews and best friend Maya Hart play out in hilarious, albeit ridiculous fashion (there was a moment the girls somehow got a full sized horse into the school and Riley’s bedroom… which isn’t on the first floor of her building). However, one of the biggest questions we’ve had since the series began is when old-school fans of the original program will get a chance to see some old faces beyond Cory and Topang (and Minkus). Well it seems we now have an answer: tonight!

Yes, tonight marks the return of Shawn Hunter himself to the new series. PRAISE THE TELEVISION GODS! But, on a serious, we’re so happy to see Rider Strong making an appearance on the new series because, as it so happens, his new female counter-part also happens to be the best thing going for the Disney comedy at the moment. In every episode of the first season, thus far, actress Sabrina Carpenter brings her comedic A-game that shines high above every other solid aspect of the show. With any luck, there will be a lovely moment of mutual respect shared between Shawn and Maya tonight that resonates the way we always hoped it would.

Oh, and we should also mention Shawn won’t be the only familiar face we see tonight:

Girl Meets World airs Fridays at 8pm on Disney Channel. Are you looking forward to a Cory/Shawn reunion? Let us know in the comments below.

Is this show any good for 26 year old males? I LOVED boy Meets World but I was also a child when I watched it.

    • Nathaniel H says:

YES. I’m 28, and I’ve watched every episode. This one really felt right, having the old gang back together. Also check out the episode the week before, which had a strong Topanga and Cory b-plot that also felt like the old days!
I also recommend the Harley Keiner episodes. What has happened to him and how he feels about his past are pretty awesome.

  2. Brick says:

What an odd feeling of nostalgia this is. Don’t know what to say, maybe I should watch or maybe it should stay dead, I’m no longer 12, but man the memories feeney and co made the 90’s one hell of a decade to grow up in.

“However, one of the biggest questions we’ve had since the series began is when old-school fans of the original program will get a chance to see some old faces beyond Cory and Topang (and Minkus).”

Harley Keiner is a recurring character and Mr. Feeney cameoed in the pilot.
