The TARDIS and DeLorean both travel through time, so it’s only natural to think about combining Doctor Who and Back to the Future. YouTuber James Farr liked the idea so much he put together a remarkably well done animation titled Blink to the Future. Why can’t this be a cartoon that airs every week?

The fun story features Matt Smith as the zany Doc Brown and Rory as Marty McFly. Farr packed in so many nods to both BTTF and Who that you have to watch the fan-made video a couple of times to spot all of them. He even made the credits in the form of the DeLorean’s time circuits! Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for details like the K-9 hoverboard and the Weeping Angel wearing a “Save the Clock Tower” sticker.

Consider this: Matt Smith has crazy hair like Doc Brown and is just as excitable. He’s a fantastic match for the character, and it makes me think I’d be okay with a Back to the Future reboot with Smith in the role. Uh, let’s pretend I didn’t say the dirty “r” word.
