Get ready to be home sick from work on October 21, because at 12:01am, they’re releasing the first six episodes of Black Mirror‘s new season on Netflix. And we, for one, gladly welcome the anxiety-inducing, dystopia series back into our lives with open arms.
Announced at the streaming service’s panel at the 2016 Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, we were gifted with a veritable smorgasbord of information—way more than we already knew—regarding the first few episodes of the very large order of episodes we’ve received. So let’s break it all down, shall we?
- Episode One: “San Junipero,” will feature actresses Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Jupiter Ascending, Beyond the Lights, Beauty and the Beast) and Mackenzie Davis (Halt and Catch Fire, The Martian) in an episode directed by Owen Harris (who also helmed the Black Mirror episode “Be Right Back”).
- Episode Two: “Shut Up and Dance,” will feature Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones) and Alex Lawther (The Imitation Game) in an episode directed by James Watkins (Eden Lake, The Woman in Black).
- Episode Three: “Nosedive,” features Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World, The Martian), Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness, Men in Black 3), and James Norton (Happy Valley, An Education, Dragon Age: Inquisition) in an episode directed by Joe Wright (Pan, Atonement).
- Episode Four: “Men Against Fire,” stars Michael Kelly (House of Cards, Man of Steel), Malachi Kirby (EastEnders, Roots), and Madeline Brewer (Hemlock Grove, Orange is the New Black) in an episode directed by Jakob Verbruggen (The Fall, London Spy, House of Cards).
- Episode Five:Â “Hated in the Nation,” features Kelly MacDonald (Brave, Boardwalk Empire) in an episode directed by James Hawes (Penny Dreadful, Doctor Who).
- Episode Six: “Playtest,” stars Wyatt Russell (22 Jump Street, Everybody Wants Some!!) and Hannah John-Kamen (Game of Thrones, Killjoys, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) in an episode directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane).
