BLACK MIRROR Season 4 Release Date Announced with New Trailer

Like any reflective surface, Black Mirror often shows viewers a vision of themselves that they may not wish to embrace. Charlie Brooker‘s dark anthology series offers a bleak view of the present and future of humanity, but it’s almost always a mind-bending ride. And we won’t have to wait long to revisit the show. Netflix has dropped a new trailer for Black Mirror‘s six-episode fourth season, which we now learn is officially releasing on December 29.

“Everything happens for a reason,” says the Siri-like voice from “Hang the DJ,” a story that finds Georgina Campbell and Joe Cole portraying a young couple who are only given 12 hours together by “the system.” But happiness and love don’t seem to be a part of the system’s equation. We’re also quite intrigued by “USS Callister,” an episode that promises to give a Black Mirror twist to the classic Star Trek tropes.

The black-and-white aesthetic of David Slade‘s episode “Metalhead” looks like one of the most visually striking installments of the new season. We’re also very much looking forward to “Arkangel,” which features a story directed by Jodie Foster about the “helicopter parents” of a young daughter and the new technology designed to keep her “safe.”

We don’t know as much about “Crocodile,” but it appears that Kiran Sonia Sawar’s character is uncovering some uncomfortable secrets while digging through some lost memories. Finally, “Black Museum” will wrap up the fourth season with a tourist trap crime museum that has a deadly and “shocking star attraction.”
