Bill Murray’s A VERY MURRAY CHRISTMAS Looks Incredible

Bill Murray is the bacon of Hollywood. Add him to any production and it makes that particular thing so much better. Have a production where it’s all about Bill Murray? Well you’ve got yourself the best thing ever.

Coming to Netflix this holiday season is the ingeniously titled A Very Murray Christmas, and we just can’t wait. Appearing to harken back to the old days of classic holiday variety shows–like that time Bing Crosby and David Bowie sang a duet–the special is chock full of familiar faces and a whole lot of Christmas cheer.

The Netflix channel’s YouTube description sums the magic up perfectly:

This winter, Bill Murray brings an extra-special dose of holiday cheer to Netflix with the premiere of an all-star musically-driven holiday special, A Very Murray Christmas. Set inside New York City’s iconic Carlyle hotel, A Very Murray Christmas opens with Murray preparing to host a live, international holiday broadcast. After a blizzard shuts down the production, he makes the best of the situation by singing and celebrating with friends, hotel employees and anyone else who drops by.

In the short clip we see a sampling of the star studded cast (George Clooney, Chris Rock, Miley Cyrus, Amy Poehler, Jason Schwartzman, Michael Cera, Maya Rudolph, Rashida Jones, Paul Shaffer and the band Phoenix). Hopefully that is just the tip of the iceberg; the synopsis is keen to point out that we should be prepared for “anyone else who drops by.”

Since Bill Murray can do no wrong (and we stand by that statement knowing Osmosis Jones exists) and the special is written, directed and produced by the fantastic Sofia Coppola (Lost In Translation, The Virgin Suicides, The Bling Ring), there’s no doubt in our minds that this will be something we’ll watch every Christmas for years to come. We just hope Bill will sing our favorite song.
