Wear the eye patch, Bret, wear the funky, funky eye patch, because HBO have commissioned a new, four-episode comedy show from Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement â otherwise known as the indomitable duo Flight of the Conchords. Hopefully this means McKenzie has grown bored and tired with winning Academy Awards for his musical contributions to cinema and decided to returned to what’s truly important.
In an interview with The Guardian about Clement’s latest project â a comedy film about vampires â the actor/singer casually let it slip that our television pipe dreams were about to become a reality once more when the newspaper reported that a Conchords-based show was confirmed by the actor. “It was supposed to be this year but then we decided to put What We Do in the Shadows out ourselves.”
However, Clement later took to Twitter to clarify the matter: it is A show with HBO, but not a re-birth of FOTC. And he hasn’t said whether or not McKenzie is involved, either:
Before this rumour gets out of hand – we are not working on a 4 ep Conchords show for hbo… https://t.co/q1607H5vg8

I am working on another idea with them though, hence the mix-up.

Flight of the Conchords, for those of you who’ve been living under a rock since 2007, followed the lives of two New Zealander comedy musicians living in New York, trying to break into the American music industry with their particular, peculiar blend of funny, weird, sensitive-man folk rock tunes. And it was also the best. Like LITERALLY THE BEST.
We’re sure that the person most excited about this, though, is the Conchord’s agent, Murray (Rhys Darby).
Murray: Be careful with it. Don’t stand next to any big magnets.
Jemaine: Why would I stand next to a big magnet?
Murray: I don’t know what you do in your personal life.

“FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS ARE RETURNING TO HBO” + dvd cover = miselading
PLEASE dont turn into Buzzfeed, nerdist
I never more starstruck then the time I walked into a Starbucks and Jemaine was walking out. I couldnt even say anything, i was speechless. I poured out all my excitement to the Barista who could care less.
I take it back.
Best news EVER!
First “The Tick” and now this? TV is about to get good again.
