Between Two Ferns With Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bieber

You have to give Justin Bieber — WAIT, DON’T GO — credit for going on Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis. From the very beginning (“It’s really exciting to talk to you, especially right in the middle of your public meltdown”), through being scolded (“your young punk attitude is not gonna work in this interview. You understand me, son?”), to “You’ve had three hair styles. What’s next for your career?,” Zach lets The Biebs have it, and The Biebs hangs in there. The Anne Frank incident, the peeing-into-a-bucket… it’s all here. And it culminates in a good old fashioned belt-whippin’ bout of corporal punishment. Plus slime.

Okay, DON’T give him credit. Whatever. It’s still a cringingly funny bit.

Possibly the least funny of the BTF vids. C’mon at this point, there didn’t seem like a single realistic reaction in the whole bit between the Justin and Zach.

I loved the first BTF “season” because back then no one knew about these videos which helped give actors to ability to authentically mad or uncomfortable because Zach G. was still an up and comer and was not really well known yet so no one knew what kind of interviewer he’d be like (most probably didn’t even know he was an actor).

Also, there are so many obviously edited parts to this vid its sad. Zach probably gets in a couple real whips on Justin which was probably the funniest part, but otherwise, meh on the funny meter.

I have to give the kid credit for being on there and playing along wit the joke.

Take it easy there, big fella. It’s just the internet

    Haha, +1!

Hey RG, that post nailed it to a T. And one thing people never realize about long posts is how short they are verbally. What you had written may take someone a few minutes to read, but if it was spoken word, it would have been a short 30 seconds at the most. Never could understand why people don’t see that long posts are not passion fueled. I’m sure if someone typed out how they greet people, they’d immediately see that the 5 second greet is a 25 second sentence written. This post looks long but spoken is only 16 seconds. And now i’ll stop sounding like a madman. Cheers everybody and just be happy goddamn it.

  6. RG says:

Bob: Who the what, me? Why do people instantly associate long posts with strong feelings? It was just a bit of pondering about the comments on FOD’s Facebook post of the video.

Sorry, but some thoughts are long thoughts. I’d personally hate for all discussion to be reduced to internet quips.

thank you Zach for taking a swipe at one of the worst examples of an under educated teen with zero talent that will be forgotten in 2 more years (& I don’t care of he fucking o.d.’s) except by Nambla members who get off on him (his last appreciative audience? (lol) ….

  9. amysrevenge says:

Sweet Jeebus, that is some funny shit right there. LOVE IT!

  10. RG says:

(Note: This is mainly in reference to the actual FOD comments, not anybody here)

  11. RG says:

Yunno, I don’t get all the hair-trigger hatred, especially when he can do something like this.

Kids are all stupid, big deal. He’s a kid, and only kids (or sad people who want to be kids) listen to his music. I’m sure he’s been a douche, but I said so much stupid stuff when I was his age, I don’t even want to think about it.

Anyway, becoming such a wholesale target for hatred when you haven’t committed genocide (or, for that matter, murdered anyone) is not only absurd on the part of the one doing the hating… it’s also bound to force him to put up a pretty big psychological wall. People say the success/money/privilege is what drives child stars insane… I tend to think it’s more a result of the constant publicity.

I.E., when celebs complain about paparazzi, there are a million people ready to tell them they have no right to complain because they have so much money. But really, it’s barbaric to deny someone their right to personal privacy out of spite for the fact that they have so much money. Can you imagine trying to go about your day with the sort of ridiculous attention this kid must get, every single day of his life? I mean, yikes. He’s holding up astoundingly well.

  12. Matthew says:

I do actually feel sorry for him about that Anne Frank comment, he did genuinely seem to hope that he would have appealed to her which was a nice sentiment. Doesn’t change the fact he’s a tool.
