“I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.“
While many believe that Obi-Wan Kenobi was speaking about the poor, slaughtered citizens of Alderaan who felt the unbridled might of the Death Star’s superlaser, he was in fact speaking about the dozens of characters and storylines that would be thrown into the garbage compactors of history when Disney purchased Star Wars and Lucasfilm in 2012.

Although Disney hit the reset button on decades of Expanded Universe storytelling, those tales of yesteryear live on in the form of Star Wars Legends. Sure these fan favorite characters might eventually crawl their way out of the sarlacc pit of canonicity to rejoin the Luke Skywalkers and Leia Organas of the world, but until then all we can do is pour out some blue milk on the curb.
With May 4, a.k.a. Star Wars Day, right around the corner, one can’t help but think about these forgotten characters, who are chilling in the canonical equivalent carbonite. So on today’s episode of The Dan Cave, we’re paying homage to the best Star Wars characters that are no longer canon.
