Because We Can: Every ‘That’s What She Said’

The “That’s what she said” meme — can you call that a meme? (Ed: Probably) owes as much to The Office as anywhere or anything else. With the trademark character, Michael Scott (Steve Carell), departing, we thought we’d reflect (via the good people at Funny or Die) on every single “That’s what she said” in the history of the proud franchise. Admittedly, Carell went out with something of a whimper.

That’s what she said.

It lives!

  1. Jason says:

Seriously? If anything, The Office owes the meme, since the show is all about recognizable failure and awkwardness and it used this meme to help establish the character’s familiarity for the audience. Since the meme predates the show, your statement sounds ludicrous and Office-obsessed.

You’ve got it completely backwards (that’s what she said). And that joke is old (your mom’s old).

  2. Double R says:

I’ll miss Carrell, but I won’t miss “That’s What She Said”. He made her sound like a fucking idiot. Sorry, ForD, I choose ‘Die’ for that clip, and that meme.

Of course, as long as you like it, who cares what I think? (I bed she said THAT too.)

:/ It only goes to season 4. “The Deposition” is awesome though!
