The BBC has announced that Doctor Who will return starting Easter weekend, with the first of eight new episodes airing on Saturday, March 30th. The announcement from the mothership doesn’t mention BBC America, but based on recent practice, it’s likely we’ll see the show airing in the U.S. on a same-day basis. (UPDATE: It’s official: BBC America WILL be showing the episode that same night, followed by the new series Orphan Black and… yes… The Nerdist!!!!)
(squee)
The first of the new episodes was written by Steven Moffat and directed by Colm McCarthy, with episodes written by Mark Gatiss and Neil Gaiman to come. And, of course, the Doctor is being accompanied by new companion Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman).
So, you’ll be watching.
When will it be shown in Australia? We are suffering withdrawal………
I hope Stephen Moffat lifts his game because there are some Dr Who fans who want more science in the plot and less magic!
