BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT Races Back to 1989 in New DLC

A new round of DLC is about to drop for Batman: Arkham Knight. And this time, Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment are taking Batman back to 1989!

26 years before Christopher Nolan started his Dark Knight trilogy, director Tim Burton’s Batman delivered one of the first comic book blockbusters with Michael Keaton as Batman/Bruce Wayne and Jack Nicholson as The Joker. The late Anton Furst also redesigned the Batmobile, which quickly became one of Batman’s most iconic cinematic vehicles. Burton went on to direct Batman Returns, which pit Keaton’s Batman against Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Penguin (Danny DeVito).

For the new Arkham Knight DLC, players can not only use Batman in his classic Burton-esque costume, they can also drive in the ‘89 Batmobile through two custom race tracks that reference both Batman and Batman Returns! The latest episode of Arkham Insider (above) shows off some new footage from the ‘89 race tracks, which includes visual references to the Joker’s parade and Penguin’s lair!

The 1989 Batman: Arkham Knight DLC also includes skins for 1990s Catwoman, Arkham Origins Batman, One Year Later Robin, 1970s Batman, Iconic Grey & Black Batman, and the Original Arkham Nightwing. The ‘89 DLC will be available to Batman: Arkham Knight Season Pass owners starting next week.

Batman gamers, are you excited to finally control the ‘89 Batmobile? What other classic Batman skins do you want to see in upcoming Arkham Knight DLC drops? Light up the Bat signal, and let us know what you’re thinking in the comment section below!
