Barry Bostwick Joins Cast Of DIANI AND DEVINE MEET THE APOCALYPSE

You may remember our friends Gabe Diani and Etta Devine from their revamp of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to replace Jim with a robot. Or you might recall their first movie, The Selling. Maybe you heard them on the Nerdist Podcast, the podcast’s Stand-Up Cluster 2, and/or Pop My Culture. In any event, they’re making another movie, you’ll be able to help them do it, and there’s casting news to report.

The new movie is called Diani and Devine Meet the Apocalypse, and it’s an homage to both the old Bob Hope/Bing Crosby “Road To…” pictures and end-of-civilization-as-we-know-it movies, as the two, playing (this is a stretch…) struggling comedians, have to deal with the impending end of everything. The cast already includes Armin Shimerman (Quark on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Harry Groener (Buffy), Kitty Swink, and Dawn Didawick, along with Gabe and Etta, and now, a familiar face from countless movies and TV shows — and their first movie — is back: Barry Bostwick (Brad! from The Rocky Horror Picture Show) will play another member of the strange country club where Gabe and Etta find shelter.

“I was in [Diani & Devine]’s first movie called The Selling,” Bostwick said in a press release. “It was brilliant, won a lot of awards. I had a great time with it and they said I can be in this one… if I behave myself.” And Gabe added, “Barry is one of the funniest and sweetest guys out there, We’re very lucky to have been able to coerce him into being in our second film.”

So, this thing’s moving along. They’re going for Kickstarter finding later this Fall; keep up with things on their website and on Facebook.

Oh, and here’s Etta casting her dog Watson for the movie.
