Late last year, we reported the release of a Boba Fett figure stylized to look like a samurai warrior. It was part of Bandai’s Movie Realization line, taking Star Wars characters like Stormtroopers, the Royal Guard, and even Darth Vader himself and turning them into warriors from ancient Japan. In their latest release, found via Toyark, Bandai has created the Stormtrooper Archer.
This awesome looking figure comes with a collapsible bow, five arrows, a quiver, a blade, and a sheath. He is dressed in traditional Samurai armor, with the symbol of the Empire adorned across his chest. This figure is beautiful, and just like the ones before it does two things amazingly well. First, it melds the two armor styles together perfectly. If this Trooper showed up in Rogue One, he would fit in smoothly.
Second, since Samurai are known to be military nobility, this also gives the Stormtroopers an aura of respect they normally don’t receive. I am holding out hope that this one can aim and fire a bow better than a blaster. Imagine the outcome of the movies if they all knew that most basic of skills.
You can check our more pictures of the Stormtrooper Archer in the gallery below.
The figure will be released in March of 2017, but you can pre-order starting September 30th. It will cost approximately 85 dollars and can be found exclusively on the Tamashii Nations site here.
So what do you think? Do you think this figure is a great addition to the Movie Realization line? What other characters or time periods would you like to see translated into toy form? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
