The Russo Bros Confirm Who Died off Camera in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for Avengers: Infinity War!

Avengers: Infinity War has been out in theaters for a few weeks, and we’re still reeling from the ending that featured several Marvel fan-favorites literally turn to dust. We’ll miss you most of all, Spider-Man. Infinity War directors Anthony and Joe Russo have gamely pretended all of those deaths are permanent, even though we fully expect the dusted to return by the end of Avengers 4.

But what about the heroes we didn’t see perish in Infinity War? Thanos wiped out half of the universe with a snap of the Infinity Gauntlet, so there were way more causalities beyond what was shown in the movie. Today’s Nerdist News is all about the unexpected fallen and survivors of Infinity War!

Join host and Thanos’ new hype man, Jessica Chobot, as she goes over a recent interview with the Russo Bros. at the Huffington Post, where they revealed the fate of a few characters who weren’t on camera during Infinity War. Howard the Duck fans can breath a sigh of relief, as Marvel’s talking duck was not among the victims. Spider-Man’s beloved Aunt May is also a survivor of the galactic purge. And at least this time, Peter Parker has a pretty good excuse for his disappearance…whenever he returns.

However, Lady Sif, Betty Ross, and that Asgardian actor who looked just like Matt Damon were not as fortunate. Intriguingly, the Russos managed to make us question the survival of Shuri and Peter’s friend, Ned, by refusing to address their fates. They may have also hinted at the possible return of Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster by indicating her status is a “potential spoiler.” Perhaps we’ll even see Jane Foster’s Thor in the MCU at some point in the future.

What do you think about the latest word from the Russos? Let’s discuss in the comment section below!
