Ever since the Walt Disney Company bought Marvel Entertainment back in 2009, fans have been wondering when the House of Mouse is going to “Disney up” the Marvel brand. Well, here we are almost 10 years later, and aside from a pair of Spider-Man mouse ears you can purchase at the Disney theme parks, there hasn’t been a ton of cross-brand promotion. We haven’t seen the Disney Princesses as members of the Avengers or the Guardians of the Galaxy, and still no signs of Mickey and Donald suddenly getting their own Marvel comics.
Having said that, one artist out there has taken a distinctly Disney-esque approach to rendering the characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. An illustrator by the name of Xi Ding has filled his social media accounts with pictures of various Marvel heroesâincluding those from recent blockbusters like Black Panther, and now, Avengers: Infinity Warâand drawing them in a very Disney animated style. You can see some of his animated style offering of the MCU characters in his Instagram down below, including the heroes of the current biggest hit the universe, Avengers: Infinity War. And who knew Chris Evans’ Captain America was so akin to Prince Charming? (Okay, we all did. But still impressive!)
Xi Ding also has a ton of other art on his social media accounts, including some inspired by Star Wars and Stranger Things, among other pop culture giants. You can follow Xi Ding on Instagram, Facebook, and on his own website to check out more of his amazing illustrations.
