This year’s Marvel Comic-Con panel was jam-packed with everything eager fans could ever want. Exciting Ant-Man cast interviews, a look at the new cast members of The Avengers 2, and a mini flex-off between the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Thor (Chris Helmsworth).

The panel started off with the Chief of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, discussing the movies of 2015, which led up to the cast of Ant-Man making its way to the stage. While we didn’t get much from the cast other than the news that production is starting on August 18 of this year (Evangeline Lilly even admitted to not even seeing a script yet), the fans did receive a bit of reaffirmation that director Peyton Reed has been a long time Comic-Con attendee and general comics fan in general. Unlike Reed, who’s been to 20 Comic-Cons, Ant-Man himself, Paul Rudd, admitted it was his first outing to the show, stating that he’s “popping my Comic-Con cherry,” followed by a quick clip from fellow cast mate Michael Douglas countering, “I’ve popped enough cherries.”

After a bit more banter between moderator Chris Hardwick and the cast, we finally got confirmation that Corey Stoll is playing Yellowjacket. The Ant-Man portion of the Marvel panel concluded with a clip made specifically for Comic-Con featuring Michael Douglas and Paul Rudd.

We moved onto bigger things with the cast of the Avengers: Age of Ultron, minus an injured director Joss Whedon and a very pregnant Scarlett Johansson.

We finally got an inside look at how new cast members–Aaron Taylor-Johnson, James Spader, and Elizabeth Olsen–felt being part of The Avengers series. We even got a bit of a tease with Olsen stating that “there are mutated people…” which got a shout from the crowd that she can’t say that, as the word “mutant” is licensed to Fox for its X-Men films.

As the cast wrapped up, we got a sneak peak at the latest Marvel film. The clip featured a party with the Avengers trying to lift Thor’s hammer.  None of the Avengers could budge the hammer whatsoever. Black Widow didn’t even bother trying. After Thor states that “You’re all not worthy” to wield the hammer, Ultron, an artificial intelligence built by Stark to help the Avengers, appears and causes all sorts of mayhem.

A series of battle scenes flashes before the screen and ends with an unarmored Iron-Man standing next to Captain America’s shield torn in half, followed by the discovery of seemingly dead Avengers. What is going on?! The Avengers weren’t free to leave just yet, though, as the panel ended with a visit from the villain, Josh Brolin wearing a plastic Infinity Gauntlet, waving to the crowd as Thanos.

As the cast headed out, fans were treated to a video of James Gunn and Star-Lord announcing that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is set to release July 28, 2017.
