Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures have released the trailer for their upcoming psychological thriller As Above/ So Below, written by John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle. The film stars Perdita Weeks, Ben Feldman and Edwin Hodge and is directed by Quarantine and Devil helmer John Erick Dowdle.
The synopsis of the film reads, “Miles of twisting catacombs lie beneath the streets of Paris, the eternal home to countless souls. When a team of explorers ventures into the uncharted maze of bones, they uncover the dark secret that lies within this city of the dead.”
I’m a big fan of Quarantine, and Devil had some cool ideas. As Above, So Below looks like a really compelling concept  — a bit of The Descent mixed with some evil mind-bendy Oculus action, perhaps? Decide for yourself by watching the trailer below and having a look at the first poster and stills from the film.
As Above/ So Below opens in theaters August 15, 2014.
