Artists Re-Imagine STAR WARS in Some Spectacular Ways

There’s no two ways about this next statement: the artists over on CG+ who made things for their “Star Wars: Re-imagined” series are absolute geniuses. Gallery posts like this are fairly straightforward in their creation. You really can’t get much simpler than things from around the internet put into a gallery so we can collectively fawn over how cool they are. Yet the creations in just the two dimensional section alone left us in an hours-long deep-dive into clicking on each and every project. There’s a 3D gallery that we haven’t even ventured into for fear of losing entire days to drooling over Star Wars art.

The idea for CG+’s contest was pretty simple. Take your favorite Star Wars thing and re-imagine it as something else. The artists involved (some of whom are professional) took that idea and sure did run with it. The gallery below has a few of our favorites but there are literally dozens, if not hundreds, more on their site waiting to be ogled. Let’s go over a few favorites that we wish were canon in the SW universe.

Blade Runner meets Rebel Alliance is just fine by us.

Pretty sure Grand Theft Auto: Tatooine is a game each and every one of us would buy in a heartbeat and we’re not even creeped out by human Chewbacca.

Speaking of mash-ups…

Zombified Yoda and a Mad Max version of Darth Vader are genre portmanteaus we never knew we needed so badly. No hero in either universe would stand a chance against either of these guys.

It’s so incredibly hard to pick a favorite but we’ll leave you with something that would have brought peace to the galaxy in the first week of any conflict. Who needs Jedi when you have Titanfall R2D2?SWRe2016Feb012

If you have a few hours (seriously) take a look at the extensive 2D and 3D galleries over on CG+ and let us know your favorites in the comments below!
