Nailing a mash-up is a technique not every artist has mastered. It’s not as simple as putting two or more franchises together, throwing them into a blender, and hoping it works. Some artists seem to have this type of art down to a science though, and DeviantArt user Abraham Lopez’s gallery is full of examples to make him look like a Mash-Up Expert. Yes, it’s a title.
The image that earns Lopez that fancy title is pictured above. It features characters from Gotham in the place of the people in the Haunted Mansion’s stretching portraits. Batman, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy, and all the rest look like they were meant to star in the Disney parks attraction. I’d pay cash money to see that art translated to cosplay – especially the Harley Quinn design!
Lopez has also mashed Disney with Street Fighter (Lilo is the best Chun-Li), Mass Effect, Star Wars, and The Hunger Games. Tangled’s Rapunzel seems to be a favorite since she appears in a few different images. As you’ll notice in the below gallery, Lopez also focuses his art on single subjects. You can spot some lovely creations featuring the 11th Doctor, Wonder Woman, April O’Neil, and more.
Which of Lopez’s pieces is your favorite? Let us know in the comments.
These are pretty
Eh, some of them are good, some of them are too cheesecakey.
This is awesome.
Amanda- You must not have titties. Hence the hate towards the titties
Also… The art is amazingenoug. Whyjust pay attention to the tits?
Amanda – Make something of equal value, then you can critique all day 🙂
Really cool stuff, just hate all the ridiculous titties in the majority of these pics, Wonder Woman being the most egregious. Come on dude!
Plenty of them DON’T, including Rogue, Rapunzel, and several of the Avengers. It’s fine for Wonder Woman to have big tits. If it’s OK for anybody to have monster mammerjammers, it’s Wonder Woman.
Absolutely love Artist Abe! My wife and I have about a dozen of his prints!
