Artist Creates Anime-Inspired Worlds Within His Art

Japanese animation is an immersive medium that allows for massive character building into worlds that can expand across universes. It’s this evolution that keeps bringing in new fans for decades. With such a large array of characters, it makes for fun, imaginative spaces to create loving fan-art that fans of all ages can appreciate.

Kris Kehasukjaren has designed such art pieces, inspired by some of his favorite anime. Naruto, Hunter x Hunter, One Punch Man, are all subjects of his work—and clearly he’s a big fan of the genre. The chibi-look of his drawing is what makes the art all his own. Kehasukjaren’s most recent art pieces are more involved, incorporating large numbers of characters and familiar scenes that resonate with anime fans.

In his Dragon Ball silhouette art print, fans will recognize over 100 characters, from the original Dragonball series to the new Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F. It’s a true homage to Akira Toriyama’s best known, much beloved work.

The best part about this print is that Kehasukjaren took the time to hide 7 Dragon Balls within the art piece. Keen eyes will spot them right away but if you need a little help, just look for Bulma and her Dragon Radar will clue you in on figuring out where they’re hidden.

Miyazaki-art-07272016

As a fan of Studio Ghibli, Kehasukjaren chose 7 classic films and composed them into one Miyazaki World. Characters from Princess Mononoke, Howl’s Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Ponyo, The Wind Rises, and Kiki’s Delivery Service all make an appearance in a kawaii world we’d all love to live in.
