Art in a Half Shell: Gallery Nucleus to Celebrate 30 Years of TMNT

Guys, I’m kind of freaking out over here that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are 30 (making them, you know, not exactly teens). I really wonder what Raphael’s quarter-life crisis looks like. It can’t be good.

Anyway, between the movies and comics, everyone seems to be commemorating the anniversary in some way. Gallery Nucleus is the latest to pay tribute to the Turtles with their upcoming show, Heroes in a Half Shell: A TMNT Art Tribute Exhibition. The show will run from July 12 through August 3 at their location on 210 East Main Street in Alhambra, CA.

It’s a combination of new and old Ninja Turtles art, featuring works from contemporary creators (hey, we have a full list below) alongside production art and memorabilia from the series. And if you make it out opening night, you can meet some of the artists who’ve worked on the show as well as get your picture taken in the Turtles’ lair. The Gallery is also promising some freebies to the first 30 and first 500 visitors, so you might want to get over there next Saturday night and see what’s up.

These are some of the artists participating in the show. You can find more details – including tickets and directions – on the show’s event page.
