Apple Event Round-Up: New iPhone, New iPad, & Apple TV Becomes a Gaming Console

Hey, Apple fanatics! It’s the most wonderful time of the year, especially if you like guys in button-down shirts using the word “innovative”, “inspired”, and “revolutionary”! The annual Apple keynote event where ol’ Saint Tim Cook stuffs your stockings full o’ announcements galore! The Apple CEO and his band of plucky executives marched out all of their new toys for good little girls and boys at their event in Cupertino on Wednesday.

The innovative tech company unveiled updates for the iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV that surpassed our expectations. Even though most of the details that leaked before today’s event failed to whet our appetite, seeing the full scope of the upgrades in action got us very excited to get our hands on the new-and-improved gadgets. We’re specifically stoked on the Apple TV’s potential to become a viable gaming console. (You can play off-brand Frogger, guys!)

Join Jessica Chobot for more details on the updates, and our thoughts on whether or not Apple can compete in the gaming industry, on today’s Nerdist News.

Thanks for watching today’s episode! Be sure to check out Dan Casey’s explanation of the nightmarish holiday hellbeast that is Krampus on the latest Dan Cave. Keep an eye out for all of our coverage of today’s Apple event, and let us know in the comments if you’re going to be grabbing any of the new Apple goodies when they roll out this fall.
