We’ve already addressed the issue of today’s Blu-ray release of Star Wars: The Complete Saga, and I wasn’t going to bring it up again, but there’s an all-star tie-in for a good cause, so…:
It’s a video to promote Stand Up 2 Cancer, featuring Aziz Ansari, Zach Galifianakis, Bill Hader, Ed Helms, Ken Jeong, Jaime King, Seth Rogen, Andy Samberg, Emma Stone, and Samuel L. Jackson goofing around with Star Wars clips. Fair enough. We’re all against cancer and for Star Wars and comedy, so there you go.
The promotion also includes eBay and LucasFilm offering a bunch of things for auction to raise money for the cancer charity, with one of the items beung dinner with George Lucas, Chris Columbus, Francis Ford Coppola, Philip Kaufman and John Lasseter. The press release doesn’t say whether you get to have dinner with all of them at once or individually, but all-at-once would be epic. “Hey, Lucas, pass the dinner rolls! Hands off, Coppola, the pumpernickel one’s mine.” They’re also auctioning off a Star Wars-edition Volkswagen Passat — that wouldn’t draw TOO much attention in the supermarket parking lot — and other stuff. That starts today, Friday, September 16th at 4 pm Pacific, and you’ll find it, they say, here at the eBay Star Wars page (there’s a Charity Auction button on the left). If you’re so inclined and have the money to bid, that’s where it’ll be.

I have to put on my super nerd glasses and say, “Seth Rogen, a parsec is a measure of distance, not time!”
Until this moment I was unaware just how much I want to have Emma Stone recite every line of Star Wars to me.
I do not support a reboot of Star Wars (though George Lucas is really trying to make me), but if they make one, I wholeheartedly support Emma Stone for the role Leia.
@42MKUltra, awesome name! I assume it’s a mix between the secret pseudoscience project the government did, and the meaning of life, the universe, and well, everything.
I love this. LOVE THIS.
Emma Stone is clearly trying to seduce me and no one else.
Ken Jeong loves wearing that Marc Maron shirt
Bill Hader as a tauntaun made me laugh out loud in the quiet section of the library. (Okay, I’ll get back to work now. Thanks for the welcome distraction.)
