And the Next Four DC Universe Movies Will Be…

Hey, fellow hero-worshippers! What do Wonder Woman, Aquaman, the Justice League, and Shazam have in common? As you might have guessed from the oh-so-subtle title of this post, each will, in all likelihood, be the subject of one of the next four DC Universe live-action theatrical films. The eagle-eyed folks at Tech Times (via Slash Film) are reporting that Warner Brothers has registered four new domain names: JusticeLeagueFilm.com, ShazamMovie.com, WonderWomanTheMovie.com, and AquamanMovie.com. (All of these links currently redirect users to the official Warner Brothers website.)

Granted, the roll-out plan for the DC Cinematic Universe is one that will still take some time to realize. You’ll recall that just last month Warner Brothers announced the release dates for nine DC films from the year 2016 to the year 2020. And that Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice still has to hit theaters in 2016 before we can delight at the sight of the Amazon Princess soloing in the first film starring a female superhero in this beautiful post-Iron Man world of superhero cinema we that live in. But things have been looking up lately. Jason Momoa is all but officially confirmed as Arthur Curry of Atlantis in Dawn of Justice, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is definitely gonna be in a Shazam! movie (which I do wish could be titled Captain Marvel, since DC’s Captain Marvel came before Marvel’s, but okay, fine). The only question there is whether Johnson will be that big bad Black Adam or the Big Red Cheese himself.

Yes, companies do register domain names that they never actually use, all the time, and as other have pointed out there’s always a chance that if Dawn of Justice bombs Warner Brothers will postpone or scrap its plans altogether. But we’re an optimistic bunch, and we like to think that this news brings us one step close to getting a DC Cinematic Universe to rival that of Marvel’s. Stay tuned for more, folks. This autumn’s gonna be an interesting one.

  1. All I want is a live action Teen Titans movie!

  2. Pixie says:

I vote Jason Mamoa for everything anyway

  3. Shawn Glenn says:

Not the first starring female superhero on the big screen. Did we all forget about Supergirl in 1984?

  4. Wow Jessica Chobot looks great.

  5. Mike says:

Aquaman is a horrible super hero those idiots don’t know what they are doing.

  6. Acheya says:

Please, by the Almighty power of Zeus, do NOT make a Shazam gritty! Please! That’s like making Deadpool into a mouthless, sword arm tho–oh, right. See! Don’t do it!

    • SuperTY says:

You can make the movie gritty by the hand of black Adam   Captain marvel himself should be childish full of humor and light.    He’s like the diet coke version of superman

  7. AsgarDraw says:

    Wonder Woman movie for sure

  8. Patmy87 says:

    FLAAAAAAAAAAAAASH

  9. I do not believe Wonder Woman will be the first solo female superhero movie (post-Iron Man). That honour will lie with the Soska Twins when they bring us Painkiller Jane.

  10. Nebulous says:

You forget that a condition of DC buying the character from Fawcett Comics, is that they can NOT use ‘Captain Marvel’ as a title.  I suspect that the agreement is also binding on Warner, so no Captain Marvel Movie.

    • Wolf-man says:

Also, since the “geniuses” at DC decided to rename Captain Marvel to Shazam, I suspect that he will probably be called Shazam in the movie too.

  11. “Life’s abyss” I strongly doubt anything would lure Cameron back to shooting anything under water.

  12. Yeah Wonder Woman! It’s about time! I’m so intrigued by a Momoa Aquaman & I’m pretty much on board for anything with The Rock.

  13. Andy N says:

    That isn’t Xena?
