AMC Orders Reality Series Hosted By THE WALKING DEAD Star Norman Reedus

On The Walking Dead, Norman Reedus’ character Daryl Dixon never seems more at home than when he’s riding a motorcycle. That’s a passion that Reedus shares in real life, and it’s carrying over into his next project on AMC.

AMC has ordered a six-episode reality series tentatively titled Ride With Norman Reedus. As the title suggests, Reedus will host the series as he travels to different towns across the country and dives into the local motorcycle culture. In each episode, Reedus will be joined by a different riding companion, including his fellow actors, musicians, friends, or even a “local chopper fanatic who shares his passion for motorcycles” as they visit bike shops, and talk to bike customizers and mechanics, and showcase collections from other motorcycle enthusiasts.

While AMC has largely left reality programming behind, Reedus is one of the most popular stars on AMC’s biggest hit, which seems to have made the pick up an easy decision for the network.

“There is nobody more passionate about motorcycles than Norman Reedus,” said AMC’s Joel Stillerman in a press release. “He is an avid rider and aficionado who is deeply immersed in motorcycle culture. There is also nobody more fun to hang out with. This show will bring those two elements together for a weekly ride into the incredible world of motorcycles and the people who live and breathe them.”

Ride With Norman Reedus is expected to premiere on AMC in early 2016.
