All-New, All-Different Marvel Relaunch Coming This Fall

The Marvel relaunch is almost here.

After the Secret Wars event concludes this fall, Marvel will restart its entire lineup of superhero comics with new series. However, it’s not the dreaded Marvel reboot. All of Marvel’s history will be intact, but there are definitely big changes ahead for the Marvel Universe.

“We’ve been planning it for years,” said Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso. “We realized that [Secret Wars] would be a game-changing moment that would allow us to create a big white canvas. It’s an unprecedented chance for us to tell new stories across all titles with new No. 1s.”

As part of the reveal, Marvel released the teaser image seen above by artist David Marquez that features Spider-Woman (Spider-Gwen), Spider-Man, Iron Man, The Vision, Spider-Man (Miles Morales), Phil Coulson, Spider-Woman, Black Panther, Captain America (Sam Wilson), Steve Rogers, Iron Man, Thor (Jane Foster), Ant-Man, Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan), and Red Wolf.

Note that Thor, Steve Rogers, and Captain America remain in their pre-Secret Wars incarnations even after the event.

To distinguish this relaunch from the Marvel Now event in 2012 and the All-New Marvel Now follow-up event in 2013, Marvel is jumping ahead eight months in all of the superhero titles to introduce new status quos, new characters, in addition to a new Hulk and an entirely new Spider-Man.

“The all-new Hulk…this character is certain to cause debate,” added Alonso. “The same people who went crazy with female Thor will have a field day with this one.”

Brian Michael Bendis, Jason Aaron, Mark Waid, Dan Slott, Charles Soule, G. Willow Wilson, and Jeff Lemire will be among the creators taking part in All-New, All-Different Marvel; which will feature a staggered release of 55-60 titles over the course of three or four months.

Alonso also teased the return of Wolverine, but added “Who is Wolverine? You’ll have to read and find out.”
