Alf Performs Weezer’s “Do You Wanna Get High?”

If you heard Weezer’s new song, “Do You Wanna Get High?” and took it literally, you might head to a really weird place, man. One where an alien dressed like Bruce Springsteen is singing to you. However, instead of risking safety and jail, you can just watch this video of Alf playing the part of Rivers Cuomo and gang.

The folks over at Vulture have a new episode of their “Vulture Remix” series, the one where they have well-known characters lip-sync pop songs. In this one, beloved alien and noted-cat enthusiast (What? I’m a “cheeseburger-enthusiast”) Alf from the ’80s sitcom of the same name, performs the new single from Weezer, “Do You Wanna Get High?” It might seem weird to see our favorite visitor from Melmac singing a song about drugs, but you’d have to imagine things got rough for Alf after the show was cancelled in 1990. Like a bright-eyed young actor that heads west and gets a taste of Hollywood stardom, only to be chewed up by the studio system, Alf is far from home and far from fame. It’s rough out there in the galaxy.

The video was made by Adam Schleichkorn, who is also known as Mylo the Cat. Past entrants in the “Vulture Remix” series include Miss Piggy singing a Rihanna song and Doug Funnie performing Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen”.

Name another song and character you’d like to see mashed up in our comments below. We’ll try to talk to Alf about getting some help in the meantime.
