Alanis Morissette Performed ‘Hand in My Pocket’ on THE TONIGHT SHOW

Cause what it all comes down to
Is that Jagged Little Pill
Is still an amazing album.

As part of the 20th anniversary of the release of Jagged Little Pill, Alanis Morissette went on The Tonight Show and performed a beautiful acoustic version of “Hand in My Pocket” for Jimmy Fallon.

It was just last week that a special, four-disc anniversary edition of the album went on sale, and Morissette, who apparently has the “Benjamin Button” disease, was on to perform one of the album’s most iconic songs.

Maybe you’re too young to remember 1995 (oh god, I’m not I’m not at all), but Jagged Little Pill was a huge album. I mean huge. It spent 12 weeks at number one, resulted in six singles from 13 tracks, three of which hit number one, and won the Grammy award for Album of the Year. As of this past summer it has sold over 15 million copies in the U.S. alone, one of only three albums to do so since 1991.

Like I said, huge.

That wasn’t the only performance that Canadian performer gave on the show, however. She joined Fallon and Meghan Trainor in a “rendition” of another classic song off the album, “Ironic.”

That’s certainly a funny way to use that song, but this is still my favorite. Please, watch through to the end, you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing.

So what’s your favorite song from Jagged Little Pill? Share it with us in the comments below since it’s been stuck in your head for the past two decades anyway.
