Ah-Ooh-Ooh! All New DUCKTALES Series Coming to Disney XD in 2017

Grab your top hat and get ready to dive into a sea of gold coins, because DuckTales is getting a new series! That’s right, Scrooge McDuck, his grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, and Donald Duck will all be back in 2017 on Disney XD.

DuckTales1

And that’s not all: apparently Duckworth, Gyro Gearloose, Launchpad McQuack, Flintheart Glomgold, Magica DeSpell & Poe, Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys (Burger Beagle, Bouncer Beagle), Mrs. Beakley and Webbigail Vanderquack will all be returning to the reimagined animated series as well!

DuckTales2

While there’s no word yet what the specific premise will be, Disney XD Senior Vice President, Programming and General Manager Marc Buhaj remarked that the new series will bring the original show’s “same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.”

We suspected a reboot might be in order after Oh My Disney released that painfully cute, incredibly popular live action take on the DuckTales theme song with real, fluffy ducklings. Disney Interactive also features a few DuckTales items in its Disney Infinity toy box, and original episodes of the cult ’90s cartoon are available on the WATCH Disney Channel app, so the studio obviously knew it had a goldmine (wink) at its fingertips. Next up… TaleSpin?

And before anyone starts in about remaking old properties, let us just say this: if they bring back the original spirit, characters, and theme song… we’re willing to give it a shot. Until then, we’ll just keep listening to this gem of an earworm:

So what are your thoughts, dear ducklings? Are you psyched to see DuckTales back on your screens or would you rather just watch the originals on repeat? Let us know in the comments below!

Don’t change it from the original too much, (if possible, hire TMS or even WFP to animate it) And don’t make it flash.

  2. Achille Talon says:

For me, it depends. On one hand, I love the characters and the series… But one the other hand it would be better to Talespin than to Ducktales, because, the characters of Ducktales still appear in comics, while the characters of Talespin totally disappeared since the 90’s ! And also, I hope it will be a sequel and not a reboot…

  3. Alexey says:

I hope they will save the original animation style. Not in 3d… please…

  4. katie says:

    Keep the original!!

  6. Chris says:

Both. Best cartoon ever. Great showing to the young on all different kinds of characters in life they will encounter. At 35 years old I would watch it everyday lol

  7. Dan says:

They Must keep the theme music!!

  8. Take all my money!

  9. Anne says:

This will be good if they keep it as classy as the original was, with no crude humor or anything. Respect these characters.

  10. gerg says:

they need to bring back gizmoduck too!

  11. I’m all for it, especially since I’m someone who grew up with it and now has a son of my own who loves Uncle Scrooge and the duck clan. Is it too much to hope that maybe they’ve recorded Alan Young already to return as Scrooge? If not, Disney needs to have him record every phrase known to man so they can put it in a computer and he can be Scrooge forever. 🙂

  13. mats groenseth says:

I will give it a shot as long as it’s not computer animated.

    • Geils says:

I agree.  Too many classic cartoons are ruined when they try to relaunch them as computer animated cartoons.

Do you know how far is 2017 ?
