Being from Massachusetts, I am part of a proud tradition of fierce arrogance, unwavering loyalty, and general loudmouthing when it comes to extolling the virtues of my home state. Our sports teams are better than yours (even when, mathematically, they aren’t). Our witch trials are better than yours. Our gay marriage is better than yours. The list goes on. But who’s going to believe a Massachusetts boy that Massachusetts is so wonderful? Enter Ylvis, the the Norwegian comedians that took our ears by storm with the batshit crazy vulpine anthem, “The Fox”. They are back with a brand new follow-up video, entitled “Massachusetts”, that takes us all the way from cold, gray Norway to cold, gray Massachusetts. Let me be the first to tell you that everything they say in the video is true, especially about notable civil rights activists. But don’t take my word for it — watch for yourself (NSFW).
What do you think? Wasn’t it wicked good? Let us know in the comments below or feel free to tell me how great Boston is on Twitter.
Is Ylvis gay?
Oh man, this song is funny. I actually really like the whole feeling of the song…..
i don’t get it. i grew up in MA and live there now. this is weird….i feel like i should be offended, but i’m not totally sure…….wtf
I’m still laughing at the pronunciation of Haverhill as “haver-hill” Like it was “Lexing-town” Classic not-from-round-here moment!
They’ve taken it down, so we’ll look for another source…
…Okay, we did. It’s back.
No, Keith, there’s no “r” in “kware.” It’s pronounced “kweah.”
Funny, yeah, and they definitely hit a lot of our landmarks here, but really, they could have done this with any state and just changed up the names of places to highlight.
Massachusetts is wicked queer (pronounced “kware” if you’re a proper Mass-hole).
Homophobic? No way! They are celebrating the fact that Massachusetts is a great place to be gay! We were soooooooooooo ahead of the curve.
Homophobic? The song is actually a tribute to Massachusett for beeing the first US state to make gay marrige legal š
Ylvis never puts people down when they make comedy, there is lots of love in their work š
Friggin’ hilarious!
As a resident of Plymouth Massachusetts I can say that this is right on the money. Hilarious. Wicked frigggen awesome.
Fuck these eurotrash douches and their homophobic bullshit.
